It might get that hot and uncomfortable you won't be able to keep your hand on the screen for long. Another issue that I have with my iPad is screen overheating.
I am not an expert, but I think this problem could be related to software, and it wasn't fixed yet. It doesn't last long, only 3-5 seconds, although it can be very annoying. I would be working on my iPad, and suddenly the screen would freeze and wouldn't respond to a finger touch or Apple Pencil.
